The cherry tree does not fight winter. It rests. It waits. Its roots hold. Its branches are bare โ but the blossoms are not gone. They are waiting for the right conditions. A little warmth. A little light. A little time.
This is Saltari. Healing does not mean erasing pain. It means remembering that beauty is also real. That beauty can coexist with difficulty. That beauty can rise โ not because the pain was wrong, but because beauty was always there, waiting.
โ The capacity for beauty is never lost. It can be buried. It can be hidden. It can feel gone. But it is not gone. Like the cherry tree in winter โ the blossoms are waiting. โ
What We Believe
We reteach the body to remember. A scent that once felt nice. A sound that once brought calm. A vision that once held beauty. A breath that once meant safety. Not to ignore the hard feelings. To let the beautiful ones rise up alongside them.
The Promise
The tree doesn't judge you for having no blossoms in winter. The tree doesn't demand you bloom faster. The tree simply waits. Roots deep. Branches bare. Ready.
That is what Saltari offers you. Not pressure to feel better. Not shame for feeling stuck. A tree to sit under. A tree that knows: the blossoms will come. Not because you forced them. Because that's what trees do. That's what you do.
โ The difficult thing falls. The beauty stays. The tree stays. You stay. โ
The Saltari Way
We don't ask you to get rid of painful feelings. We ask you to let them ride alongside something beautiful. A cherry tree. A scent. A breath. A sound. Not to ignore the pain. To carry it differently. Over time, the pain softens. The beauty stays. Not because the pain was wrong. Because beauty is real. Because beauty is stronger. Because beauty was always there โ waiting to blossom.
Saltari means to look into the soul. Not to fix it. To see it.
Healing happens through beautiful things. Beautiful memories. Being seen. Being heard. Being accepted. That is not avoidance. That is transformation. That is Saltari.
๐ The Cherry Tree Method
Anchor โ Feel โ Notice change โ Release
What It Is
A simple, guided self-help tool for emotional regulation. Not therapy. Inspired by cherry blossoms โ they appear, are felt fully, then fall.
The 7 Practice Steps
1. Ground โ Feet on floor, slow breath, tapping
2. Use your paired anchors โ Feet+breath / Touch+sound / Scent+breath
3. Bring in your blossom โ A small feeling, thought, or memory
4. Stay safely โ Use your anchors. Don't push. Just be with it.
5. Notice any shift โ Did it move? Change? Get lighter?
6. Let it pass โ Like a blossom falling โ no force, just release
7. Return to grounding โ Back to breath, feet, safety
Grading System (0โ10)
0โ2 โ Very calm, safe โ Tree is blooming
3โ4 โ Low, comfortable โ Continue practice
5โ6 โ Moderate, manageable โ Safe to practice. Repetitions help.
7 โ Borderline โ Proceed with caution
8โ10 โ Overwhelming โ Use strong anchors first
The Repetition Loop
If your rating is 5 or above after a practice: Use the same anchors โ Sit with the same feeling โ Practice again โ Rate again โ Repeat until rating is 4 or below.
Frequency > duration. Short cycles, repeated often, teach the body that feelings move.
Strong anchors (overwhelm): Cold water, orienting to room, SAFETY SOUND
Still overwhelmed: Stop. Rest. The tree waits.
โ What remains after the feeling falls โ the beauty, the safety, the tree, you. โ
๐ Cherry Tree App
Simple. Gentle. Repeat until the feeling moves.
๐ณ Build your tree
Grounding:
๐ฆถ Feet
๐ฌ๏ธ Breath
โ Touch
Anchor pair:
Feet + breath
Touch + sound
๐ธ Scent + breath
๐ธ Your blossom
Rate your feeling after each cycle. If 5+, the app will repeat automatically.
๐ For Practitioners
What makes this method different: Short cycles (2โ3 min), multiple times per day, rating after every cycle, two-tier safety system, and counter-conditioning (fear replaced by beauty, not neutrality).
Grading Protocol
Score
Intervention
0โ2
Reinforce. Tree blooming.
3โ4
Continue primary anchors.
5โ6
Safe for exposure work.
7
Proceed with caution.
8โ10
Use strong anchors first.
Contraindications
Not for active crisis
Not for severe dissociation without support
Not a therapy substitute
If score doesn't drop below 7 after several cycles: stop, rest, reassess
Counter-Conditioning, Not Just Extinction
Standard extinction leaves neutrality. Saltari leaves beauty โ the memory of the tree, the scent, the safety. What remains is not a void.
โ The tree blossoms. The petals fall. The tree remains. The safety remains. โ
